Continental Airlines Cargo Now Live on Unisys-Operated Cargo Portal Services
Hong Kong, March 14, 2007 – Unisys announces that Continental Airlines Cargo is now live on the Unisys-operated Cargo Portal Services (CPS), a leading electronic booking and shipment management service for the air cargo industry. Continental’s participation in CPS will give the airline’s air cargo clients a convenient, Web-based facility to manage bookings and track shipments through a neutral portal. The integration of Continental Airlines’ cargo system and CPS went smoothly and freight forwarders around the world are now able to take advantage of Continental’s extensive route network when booking shipments. “Our customers want choice and convenience,” said Jack W. Boisen, vice president, Continental Airlines Cargo Division. “CPS fills this need because of its rapid adoption by forwarders, its multi-carrier model, and its capability to handle virtually all types of cargo products. This development builds on our commitment to offer the most suitable e-commerce channel to each of our clients.” “Unisys and the CPS community welcome Continental Airlines Cargo. We are already seeing many CPS freight forwarder users booking on Continental in the same way that they do with other CPS carriers,” said Christopher Shawdon, vice president and partner, Logistics Solutions for Unisys. "Continental’s expertise in areas such as air cargo security will also help shape new CPS developments." Click here for the Traditional Chinese press release. About Continental Airlines Cargo
